Be Humble

Good Morning and Happy Friday My Loves,

bloghumble

We are blessed to be here another day. Given another day to make a difference. In all that you do remain humble. The scripture for the day is 2 Chronicles 7:14 which says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. No matter how big your car, house or bank account we all came into the world the same way and will leave the same. Where your final home is depends on you. Being humble means recognizing we are not on this earth to see how important we can become, but to see how much of a difference we can be in the life of others.

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less. I will always remain grateful because I know I’ve had less. Proverbs 16: “Pride goes before a destruction, and a haughty  spirit before a fall.” Why does pride go before destruction? The Bible has very little good to say about pride. Pride, in Biblical terms, always seems to be linked to people who foolishly rebel against God, thinking themselves above the law of God. The cure for pride is true humility, which doesn’t mean putting ourselves down or being negative about ourselves. It means seeing ourselves in a right relationship to God and to other people. Humility means recognizing that God is our Creator, that He loves us and knows what’s best for us. Humility means serving others, putting their needs ahead of our own, forgetting ourselves at least for a little while in the joy of caring for our fellow human beings.

If we’re looking for a living example of true humility, we need look no farther than Jesus Christ. On that mountaintop that day He rejected the devil’s temptation to worldly power and influence. Not only because the price Satan demanded – bowing down and worshipping him – would have been idolatry. But also because Jesus Himself had already chosen a different path. He chose – consistently, throughout His earthly life – the path of humility over the path of pride. He chose to live and work as a humble, simple man among poor and simple people. He chose to sway people’s hearts and minds by love rather than power. He calls each one of us to make that same choice today. He doesn’t call us to a false humility in which we take on a negative attitude and put ourselves down. He calls us to the true and joyous humility that He Himself lived out during His time on earth – a humility of obedience to God and service to others.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, please set us free from this worst and deadliest of sins – the sin of pride. We want to fall on our knees before You as our Creator and Savior, and to lovingly and humbly serve You and others. We can only do that if Self has been taken off the throne of our hearts, and You have taken Your rightful place there. Make it so in each of our lives, Father, in the Name of Your humble and obedient Son Jesus. Amen. (Prayer from QH Ministries)

Today remember to be humble in all you do. Be humble enough to know you are no better than anyone else and wise enough to know you’re no different from the rest. Be abundantly and humbly blessed. Always be a blessing to others! I know you can do this because…Great Is In You.
