Appreciating Fathers

Good Morning Loves,

Happy Sunday and Happy Father’s Day to the Fathers all over the world. Ephesians 6:2-4 says,“Honor your Father and Mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise. So that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth. Fathers,do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” A Father is neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way. A Dad isn’t defined as the man who makes the child, but rather the man who extends his hands and time to help with a child’s raising and his heart to love the child through anything! Blood doesn’t always make you a DAD. Being a DAD comes from your heart.

I am thankful for my Husband and my Father in Law this morning. They are both great examples of what Fathers should be. My Father is no longer here on this earth with me. My heart goes out to those today that have lost their Fathers. I just wish I could see his face and hear his voice just one more time. To those that still have their Fathers on this earth just know they won’t always be here. Cherish the time you have with them now because one day you won’t have that opportunity. Although my Father isn’t with me this poem is dedicated to him.

I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new . I thought of you yesterday and the days before that too. I think of you in silence and often speak your name. All I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is my keepsake with which I will never part. God has you in his keeping but I will always have you in my heart.-Author Unknown

Not only today, but everyday be grateful for your Father. Know that they won’t always be here on earth. Take today to spend time and love on your Father. I wish I could. Be abundantly blessed my Loves and more importantly a blessing to others. I know you can do this because…..Great Is In You!
